Victorian Lover's Eye Ring

A rare surviving piece from one of the most romantic fads in jewelry’s history. “Eye miniatures,” as they were called in the Georgian era, were custom jewelry items featuring hand-painted depictions of just the subject’s eye, keeping their identity a secret. The mystery is just part the magic of our early-1800’s Lover’s Eye ring, featuring a watercolor rendering on ivory, framed behind glass, and set in an 18k gold shank.
